Pear Shelving Unit

The Pear shelving unit is a tall open shelving unit shaped like a juicy pear with a leaf, combining the capacity of an adult furniture module with a design a child can relate to. Six shelves up to 2 metres high hold the books, toys, construction sets and teaching materials of a whole group, while the shaped silhouette turns an ordinary storage system into a bright decorative element of a kindergarten group room, a primary school classroom or a children's library.

The body is made of 16 mm laminated chipboard in a rich yellow colour, with edges protected by 2 mm PVC banding — this edging withstands impacts in children's rooms best and does not chip on the edges of shaped parts. The decorative "leaf" overlay is made of 16 mm MDF in lime-coloured PVC thermal film. The design includes wall fixing, which secures the tall unit and rules out tipping.

Is wall fixing mandatory? Yes, for a 2 m tall unit in a children's room wall fixing is mandatory for safety reasons — the fixing is provided by the design.

What is convenient to store on the shelves? Books, board games, construction sets, baskets of toys and teaching materials; open shelves give children and teachers quick access to all the contents.

How should the surfaces be cared for? Wipe the laminated chipboard and film-wrapped MDF with a soft damp cloth and a neutral detergent; the 2 mm PVC edging protects the edges from chipping in daily use.
