Hedgehog Shelving Unit

The Hedgehog shelving unit is an open storage system with a decorative hedgehog-shaped overlay, created for kindergarten group rooms, primary classrooms and children's libraries. Six open shelves keep books, toys and board games in plain sight — a child sees the items and puts them back independently. The shaped silhouette turns an ordinary shelving unit into a character of the room, so it stores things and decorates the interior at the same time.

The base is made of 18 mm laminated chipboard with reinforced 2 mm PVC edge banding that withstands knocks in a busy children's group. The decorative back panel is 16 mm MDF in PVC thermofilm — it is this panel that forms the hedgehog silhouette. Metal wall fixings are provided for safe use, preventing the unit from tipping over. The colour scheme is fixed: urban coffee oak body with a lime MDF overlay.

Does the unit have to be fixed to the wall? Yes, the design includes metal wall fixings — a mandatory condition for safe use in a children's institution.

How should the surfaces be cleaned? Laminated chipboard and MDF in PVC thermofilm are wiped with a damp cloth and neutral detergents — no abrasives.

Can a different colour be chosen? The model comes in a fixed combination: urban coffee oak body and lime overlay — a contrasting duo that looks great in a children's interior.
