School Set on Round Tube, Group 4-6: Desk and Chair with HPL

The round-tube school set for groups 4–6 pairs a student desk with a shelf and a chair with an HPL finish, designed for middle grades. The set's key advantage is the chair's seat and backrest covered with HPL plastic: this material resists scratches and abrasion far better than plain varnished plywood, washes easily and withstands regular disinfection, making the set a strong choice for institutions with heavy furniture use.

The desk is built on a round steel tube frame d25/d32 mm with powder coating; the height adjusts to three positions from 640 to 760 mm, with growth-group markings applied to the frame. The rounded-corner desktop is 18 mm laminated chipboard with 1 mm PVC edging; the screen and shelf are 16 mm laminated chipboard. The chair is assembled on round tube d32/d25 mm: the 380×350 mm seat and 380×200 mm backrest are bent-glued plywood 8–9 mm covered with 0.4–0.5 mm HPL plastic, with rounded corners and a rounded front seat edge. The seat height adjusts within 380–460 mm using screws through the frame holes with a plastic transition bushing; plastic end caps protect the floor.

The set meets sanitary requirements for educational furniture, and six HPL colours allow a consistent classroom colour scheme. What does the HPL finish give compared with plain plywood? HPL is a dense decorative plastic 0.4–0.5 mm pressed onto the plywood: it does not scratch from pens and zips, does not absorb moisture and withstands washing with disinfectants, so the chairs keep a neat look for longer.
