School Desk, Single Student Desk with Wire Mesh Shelf and Cup Opening

The single school desk with a metal wire mesh shelf is a heavy-duty model for middle and senior grades (growth groups 4–7), built for intensive daily use. Its two key differences: a welded wire shelf under the desktop that collects no dust and keeps contents visible, and a moulded 6 mm polyurethane edge that protects the desktop from chipping far better than regular PVC banding.

The 18 mm laminated chipboard desktop features an anti-scoliosis cutout, a polyurethane pen tray and a polyurethane-rimmed cup opening. The shelf is made of 3 and 4 mm steel rod welded at every contact point; the front rods are bent for safety, and the shelf attaches to the desktop with six screws through 2 mm welded-on plates. The modesty panel is 18 mm laminated chipboard with 2 mm PVC edging. The frame is welded from 50×30, 38×20 and 30×15 mm flat-oval tubes and a 25 mm round tube; the 50×30 mm skids sit vertically and are closed with external plastic end caps. The height adjusts from 640 to 820 mm with screws through the frame holes and a plastic transition sleeve. The frame and shelf are powder-coated.

What does the polyurethane edge give compared to PVC? It is moulded around the perimeter as a solid 6 mm layer: it has no joints, never peels off and absorbs impacts on the desktop edge — the desk keeps a neat appearance much longer.

Is the mesh safe for students? Yes: the front rods are bent with no sharp ends, and the whole shelf is powder-coated with no burrs.
