Single Student Desk with Perforated Panel and Polyurethane-Edged Desktop

The single student desk with a perforated panel and polyurethane-edged desktop is a model for institutions that want a modern-looking classroom and maximum durability. Instead of the usual chipboard modesty panel, it has a perforated metal sheet: it does not chip or work loose and gives the room a neat, office-grade look, while the desktop perimeter is protected by a moulded 6 mm polyurethane edge.

The panel is made of 1 mm sheet metal with decorative perforation and powder-coated to match the frame. The 18 mm laminated chipboard desktop features an anti-scoliosis cutout and a polyurethane pen tray; below it is a shelf of 18 mm laminated chipboard with 2 mm PVC edging, and hooks are mounted on the side posts. The frame is welded from 50×30, 38×20 and 30×15 mm flat-oval tubes and a 25 mm round tube; the vertical 50×30 mm skids are closed with external plastic end caps. The height adjusts with screws through the frame holes and a plastic transition sleeve within growth groups 4–7 (640–820 mm).

Why a metal panel instead of chipboard? It does not chip at the edges, does not loosen at the fixings and is easy to wash; the perforation lightens the structure and adds a modern look — a good fit for renovated learning spaces.

Will the panel rust during wet cleaning? No: the metal is powder-coated like the frame, so it withstands regular washing and disinfection without any trace of corrosion.

How does this model differ from one with a regular PVC edge? Here the edge is polyurethane, moulded as a solid 6 mm layer with no joints: it never peels and absorbs impacts, so the desktop keeps a tidy appearance much longer.
