Chair with Plywood Monoblock, HPL Coating

This chair with a plywood monoblock and HPL coating (article 48475HPL) is a fixed-height model for classrooms, laboratories, reading rooms and other common spaces. It differs from the basic version precisely in the HPL facing of the plywood: instead of lacquer, the surface is protected by a 0.4-0.5 mm layer of high-pressure laminate, which is considerably more resistant to abrasion, moisture, disinfection and scratches.

The seating part is based on a solid anatomical plywood monoblock made of bent-glued plywood: the seat and backrest form one jointless part that supports the back and simplifies cleaning. HPL laminate is applied on top and is available in several decors, so the chair can be matched to the colour of desks or the interior. The metal frame is welded from a 22x2.0 mm tube and fixed to the monoblock with M6x30 screws; the coating is powder paint. Plastic end caps on the tube ends protect the floor and prevent injuries.

The HPL version makes sense where furniture is cleaned intensively and washed regularly — which is why it is often chosen in public procurement for heavily used spaces. Why is HPL coating better than lacquer? HPL is a high-pressure laminate bonded over the plywood as a 0.4-0.5 mm layer. It is harder than lacquer, holds up better against scratches and withstands frequent washing and disinfection, so it suits intensively used premises.

Is the chair height-adjustable? No, the seat height is fixed at 470 mm. The model is intended for senior students and adults; for younger classes choose height-adjustable chairs by growth groups.
