The Paderno 42508-00 meat tenderizer hammer is a double-sided kitchen tool for preparing meat dishes in school, kindergarten and hospital kitchens, as well as foodservice businesses. It softens and evenly stretches the fibres of a cut of meat while keeping it intact, letting kitchen staff quickly bring escalopes, schnitzels and similar dishes to the required thickness without tearing the surface.
The head has two discs: a flat one for evenly stretching slices, and one with blunt points for breaking down tough fibres and sinews, including in delicate meats such as chicken. Beyond its main purpose, the tool is also handy for other kitchen jobs: breaking up nougat, crushing garlic heads, dried fruit, seeds and spices, or crumbling biscuits for a cheesecake base. A hole in the handle allows convenient hanging storage after use. Made with an aluminium head and a wooden handle, the hammer is 32 cm long.
