The Lacor 60413 wire mesh skimmer is a simple, reliable kitchen tool for working with liquid-based dishes: lifting food out of boiling water or hot oil, skimming scale and small particles while cooking, and straining smaller volumes. The working head is a mesh made of metal wire — as reflected in the manufacturer's product name, "espumadera de alambre" — which lets liquid pass through while catching solid pieces, so the tool is often used alongside a slotted skimmer for different kitchen tasks.
The working head is 14 cm in diameter with an overall length of 50.5 cm, letting the cook reach the bottom of a medium pot while keeping a safe distance from the hot surface. The manufacturer, Spain's Lacor, specialises in professional kitchenware for foodservice businesses. This type of utensil suits food services of schools, kindergartens and hospitals, where soups, stewed fruit and steamed dishes are prepared daily and a dedicated tool for straining and lifting food from liquid is useful.
