Merry-go-rounds for playgrounds
A merry-go-round is equipment that gathers children around it and teaches them to play together. For kindergartens and public playgrounds it is one of the most popular elements and at the same time one of the most demanding in terms of quality: the rotation unit and the seats must withstand group load every day for years.
The category includes carousels with seats and platform models, with a wheel and handrails, for different numbers of children. Pay attention to a closed bearing unit that keeps small fingers away from the mechanism, smooth rotation, strong handrails and an anti-corrosion coating. The equipment must meet the safety requirements of DSTU EN 1176 (the Ukrainian national standard), and a free safety zone must remain around the carousel.
Prioritti supplies carousels from various manufacturers for kindergartens, schools and community improvement programmes, and supports procurement with acceptance documents. How to check completeness and quality upon delivery is described in the article How to accept furniture after delivery.
Frequently asked questions
How many children can ride a merry-go-round at the same time? It depends on the model — from 3–4 to 8 or more; the number of seats and the permitted load are listed in the specifications.
What safety zone is needed around a carousel? Free space around the perimeter according to the manufacturer passport — with no equipment, kerbs or walkways; this is a mandatory requirement for safe operation.
