The M1 ballistic plate carrier is made of Cordura 600 fabric — a specialized heavy-duty material used for body armor and load-bearing gear. Its base platform consists of three layers: Cordura, foam (5 mm), and Cordura, stitched along the perimeter.
The design includes front and back plate pockets closed with a hook-and-loop flap. The cummerbund adjusts girth and fastens with hook-and-loop or elastic lacing. Shoulder straps are made of double-layer 40–50 mm webbing with an adjustment buckle, and the shoulder pad uses a three-layer Cordura-foam-Cordura construction.
